Barry my Friend, It was a great time in Chicago wasn't it for you and your Brother. You even got to watch your team (Cubs), beat his team, (Braves). Too bad both teams couldn't win in situations like that, but life isn't that way in the sports world.
In the "game" of life it is different than sports. Everyone can come in a winner and receive a crown if they just stay in the race or stay in the game. Of course the race or game I am referring to begins and ends with Jesus Christ as ones Lord and Savior.
The temporary prises of this life will fade and be forgotten, but with the Lord they will last for eternity.
1 Cor. 9:24-25 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Our Lord blessed you with a wonderful trip and game to remember, but more important you belong to Him and are running the race that will give you victory for all eternity with Him.
Dear Brother Barry, Your trip to Chicago with your Brother reminded me of the verses below. It is good to see you both experiencing life together and building a closer relationship. As I told you, the Lord is about love and close relationships. May our Lord bless your efforts with your Brother.
PS. 133:1-3 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
